Graduates supporting Special Educational Needs
Children in schools are all different. Those with additional educational needs have different things that present \’barriers to learning\’. This means that they don’t have the same access to the curriculum without appropriate support.
Places in specialist schools are in short supply and many mainstream schools are supporting more and more children with special needs. Support is there to give the best possible opportunity to thrive and flourish and make the best progress.
Keyworkers or Educational Support staff used to be the remit of a small number of experienced staff and some volunteers, however as numbers have dramatically increased, opportunities have arisen for graduate level candidates. Many areas of study such as Psychology and Speech and Language has been the perfect background for talented Graduate SEN Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants to work in these rewarding roles. Many are looking to build paid experience prior to further study in the field of educational Psychology.
Key focus areas of SEND
- Fulfil potential
- Meet individual needs
- Curriculum access for all
- Offer appropriate support
So if you’re a nurturing and empathic individual with a real interest in SEND and you’re keen to spend the next academic year helping learners get the best possible outcomes, then get in touch!
